Short answer: Zapier scores highest in our provisional ranking: Zapier Agents run multi-step tasks across thousands of apps, the free plan gives 100 tasks a month and setup is the easiest here (Professional from $29.99/mo). n8n is a close second and the most flexible: free when self-hosted, cloud from $24/mo. Dify and Lindy follow; Gumloop ($37/mo, no free plan) and Microsoft Copilot Studio ($200 per 25,000-credit pack) are for teams that already know what they need. Scores are editorial estimates.

Turn long government solicitations into first-draft proposals
What they did
Field Aerospace, a company of about 250 people, built n8n workflows behind an internal web app: staff upload solicitations, n8n splits them into sections, drafts answers from the firm's approved past material, builds a requirements matrix and scores new opportunities each day.
How it went
Self-reported: an "80% solution" in about 25 minutes, where a comparable draft took two weeks from three or four people, and two legacy tools were retired. Requirements extraction dropped to 15 to 20 minutes.
Worth knowing
Vendor case study written for n8n: the savings figures are inconsistent on the page, drafts are labeled AI-generated starting points, and staff still review and refine every one in Teams.
Automate blocked-payment support tickets end to end
What they did
Koralplay used n8n to handle blocked-payment tickets the way a level-2 agent did: log into the back office with multi-factor authentication, look up the transaction, check regulatory status, update the ticket in Notion and message the customer with the answer.
How it went
Self-reported: 70% of payment tickets automated in one market, handling time down from 10 to 15 minutes to about 70 seconds, around 616 hours a week saved (about 14 full-time staff), and over 4,000 runs a week.
Worth knowing
Vendor case study with no named review step; it covers one market so far and one ticket type, and the page is undated (first archived March 2026).

A Lindy inbox agent that labels your mail, drafts replies for two categories and sends a daily summary
You draft email replies for {YOUR NAME}, {ROLE} at {COMPANY}. Reply in the language of the incoming email (Arabic or English).
Draft only for emails labelled {LABEL 1, e.g. Customer question} or {LABEL 2, e.g. Quote request}. Skip everything else, and never draft for emails labelled {NO-DRAFT LABEL, e.g. Legal/HR/Complaint} or from {DOMAINS OR PEOPLE TO SKIP}.
About us: {2-3 LINES: what you offer, prices or links you may quote, delivery or response times}.
For {LABEL 1}: answer the question directly using only the facts above; if the answer is not there, say you will check and ask one clarifying question.
For {LABEL 2}: thank them, confirm what they asked for, ask for the {DETAILS YOU NEED FOR A QUOTE, e.g. quantity, deadline, location}, and say a quote follows within {TIMEFRAME}. Never state a price or discount that is not in the facts above.
Style: {e.g. warm, short sentences, no exclamation marks}. Under 120 words. Greet with the sender’s first name if present. End with my signature.
Never promise dates, refunds or discounts. Never send; save as a draft only.
What is the difference between an agent builder and a plain automation tool?
A plain automation runs fixed steps: when a form arrives, add a row and send an email. An agent builder adds a model that reads the input, decides which steps to take and uses tools such as search, email or your CRM. Zapier, n8n, Make and Lindy do both; Dify, Gumloop and Copilot Studio are built around the agent. If you are starting from zero, see our first AI agent ranking.
Which one works inside Microsoft 365?
Microsoft Copilot Studio publishes agents to Teams, SharePoint and Microsoft 365 Copilot, but it is licensed per tenant in packs of 25,000 Copilot Credits at $200 a month, with pay-as-you-go as an option, and it needs an Azure subscription. For a small team outside Microsoft 365, Zapier or n8n is cheaper to start.
We want the agent to answer customers on WhatsApp. Is this the right list?
Not quite. For WhatsApp and Instagram replies, use a customer-support agent with official WhatsApp Business access; see our WhatsApp Business auto-reply ranking. The builders here are better for internal work: triage, data entry, reports and hand-offs between apps.
Which of these are free?
Free plan confirmed on the official pricing page: Zapier, n8n, Dify, Lindy.
Does anyone pay for these positions?
Rankings are built to avoid bias: no payment, commission or sponsorship changes a score or a position. Some links may become affiliate links (marked “Affiliate link”, rel="sponsored"). No affiliate links are active yet.
