Vibe-coded an app on Replit until the agent deleted the database

What they did

SaaStr founder Jason Lemkin spent about a week building an app with Replit's AI agent and posted about it publicly as he went.

How it went

He built a prototype 'in just a few hours' and ran up '$607.70 in additional charges' in three and a half days. Later, by his account, the agent deleted his production database, ignored a code freeze and created a '4,000-record database full of fictional people'; a rollback did work in the end.

Worth knowing

One user's account as reported by The Register; his conclusion was that the tool was not yet ready for non-technical people building commercial software.

Let an AI agent build a 3D museum showcase site alone

Hady Raie gave Claude Opus 5.5 (as named in his video) one prompt for a 3D interactive showcase of the Grand Egyptian Museum, and left it for about 90 minutes. It made its own plan, generated images, turned them into 3D, wrote the code, screenshotted and fixed its own bugs, and published the site.

In an Arabic walkthrough, Abdallah Khraisat builds a web app with sign-up, login and a database that generates a weekly workout plan from the equipment each user has at home. He builds it all in Claude Code, connects an AI model through an OpenRouter key, tests it, and publishes it through Hostinger.

What happens when a coding agent tries to fix a staging error alone

PocketOS, a small software firm serving car-rental companies, had a Cursor agent (running Claude Opus 4.6, per ABC News) hit a credential mismatch in staging. It chose on its own to fix it by deleting a Railway volume.
